Veterans Day is when we can celebrate and honor our veterans, war heroes, and active duty military members together as a community and thank them for their service. If you have any family members, friends, or neighbors who serve in the Armed Forces or are retired veterans, there is no better time to show them your gratitude for their service.
Cobb County has more than a few events where you and your family or friends can participate, as well as other opportunities that let you support the local veteran community. Whether you are looking for a fun family day trip or a chance to give back and support our veterans, there is something for you. Another meaningful way to express gratitude towards veterans is by shopping at veteran-owned establishments. One such business is an Atlanta Gourmet Food Truck C’est Tout Bon 2 Eat, which serves authentic New Orleans cuisine. Founded in 2014, they offer juicy meals with mouthwatering flavors like Cajun Cheeseburgers and delicious deep-fried Gourmet Dogs.
If you are a food lover and would like to show them your support on Veterans Day or year-round, consider paying them a visit with your friends or family. Buying from them or other veteran-owned businesses is one of the easiest ways to support your local veterans.
#8 Free National Park Days
Finally, another way to spend your holiday as a family or with friends is to visit one of the National Parks in the region. Many parks grant free admission to veterans, active duty military members, and their families, making for a great chance to spend time outdoors together. Consider visiting one of many regional National Parks this Veterans Day in memory of those who made tremendous sacrifices to keep our nation safe.
