Cobb County has an amazing summer and people here take it seriously. Once the weather turns, the city fills up with outdoor concerts, night markets, and rooftop bars that make you glad you live here. If you’ve been sticking to the same dinner spots and calling it a night early, there’s a lot you’re missing.
This guide covers the events and spots worth getting out for this season.
Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre
Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre at 5239 Floyd Road in Mableton is one of the most underused venues in South Cobb for people who don’t live out there. The 2026 summer lineup is stacked. An Evening of Classic Hip Hop with Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Chubb Rock, and Kwame lands August 1. An Evening of Jazz with Brian Culbertson featuring Vincent Ingala is on August 9. An Evening of Soul with Will Downing, Jonathan Butler, and Eric Darius closes out the run on August 15.
Every Wednesday through the season, the free Wine Down Wednesday series brings a rotating lineup to the lawn and terrace. Gates open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. July 8 has Milli Vanilli and Vivo Benito, a Bad Bunny tribute. August 12 brings Drivin N Cryin and Black Lion Reggae. Lawn and terrace seats are free, table seats are $20, and reservations are required through Ticketmaster.
Summer Night Market at Marietta Square Market
Every second Saturday through September, Marietta Square Market hosts the Summer Night Market from early evening into the night. Local artisan vendors, plant vendors, yard games, raffle giveaways, and live music outside as the day cools off. Then head inside Marietta Square Market for a full range of food options and DJ sets.
It’s free, family-friendly, and pet-friendly. The rotating vendor lineup keeps it fresh each month. The July 11 edition falls right in the middle of the summer and is a good one to start with.
Glover Park Concert Series
Every last Friday of the month through September, Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square hosts a free outdoor concert. The series is in its 40th year in 2026 and the August show on August 28 brings Kasper and the 911 Band with R&B and pop. The Square’s restaurants and bars fill up around it, so getting a table or reservation on the Square before the crowd builds is worth doing.
Tables in the park are available for a fee through the City of Marietta website. Concert Fridays fill up fast.
Kennesaw Concert Series
The 2026 Kennesaw Concert Series at the United Bankshares Amphitheater at Depot Park keeps building each year. Rumours ATL, a Fleetwood Mac tribute, plays August 22. The series also runs First Friday Concerts on the first Friday of each month from 7 pm to 9 pm on the Main Street Plaza in downtown Kennesaw, with no tickets required. July 11 brings Yacht Rock Schooner for a set of smooth sounds from the late 70s and early 80s.
Food and drinks are available on site and the Depot Park setting is a solid place to spend an evening.
Smyrna Food Truck Tuesdays
Every Tuesday from May through September, Taylor-Brawner Park in Smyrna hosts Food Truck Tuesdays starting at 5 pm with a rotating lineup that has included Yumbii, Buen Provecho, King of Pops, and others near the mini amphitheater. Check the weekly lineup on the City of Smyrna website before you go and arrive closer to 5 pm, since parking gets limited on busy evenings.
Virtue Rooftop at 5Church
Virtue Rooftop sits above 5Church on Marietta Street in downtown Atlanta, right on the edge of the Cobb-Atlanta corridor. It’s a covered indoor-outdoor terrace with good cocktails, solid food, and skyline views. It works well for a night out after a Battery Atlanta game or a Marietta Square evening when you want to extend things a bit.
Reservations are smart on weekends. The happy hour window on weekdays is the easier call if you want to skip the weekend crowd.
Go Find Your Spot
Cobb has a lot going on this summer and most of it is either free or close to it. As a real estate agent in Cobb County, I stay plugged into what’s happening across neighborhoods because it matters when you’re helping someone figure out where to put down roots. Summer nightlife is one of the best ways to understand what a neighborhood actually feels like.
Pick one spot from this list and get out there this week.
